oh 1 more thing regarding graphics and the delete box, if the box had a 1 pixel, solid trim around it, possibly with very slightly rounded corners I think that would look very nice as well.

And the X could be smaller, or potentially be removed (maybe an option?) since you're finger covers it up anyway the parts that stick out just block me from seeing the nodes I'm going over if I'm trying to be very precise. Maybe drop it lower in the Z buffer so it's behind the nodes? but that would probably look weird.

It seems it is featured on all countries, wow. I'm looking forward the stats of tomorrow :) .

@ima747, thanks for the detailed feedback. I will try to improve graphics on the update I'm working on. I'm bothered by the .pvr compression. I need for performance matters but it's a pain to get something acceptable (compression artefacts).

There is already an update waiting for approval with a fast deletion system (no need to wait) and a 2 fingers scrolling.

So, as promise my feedback for the sales, they have changed a little. Being featured at this place in the iTune store is about 150 sales a day. Not so bad, I hope they will keep this front page for a long long time, but I think they change it every week...

150 sales/day is nothing to sneeze at, but still it seems being featured on the front page should translate in to a better bounty. Maybe you should raise prices while you are on the front page?

I don't feel doing this right now, I would like to maximise the chances to enter the charts if possible (but it's so hard). I think I will raise the price when the game has make its life, in a long time ahead.

Still about 150 sales a day.

We pulled the lite to experiment. We heard from some people that cannibalizes actual sales and maybe that does if you have a terrible game but from what we noticed, our sales drastically dropped when we pulled the Lite version.

@Arian, you mean when you stopped distributing the lite version, the sales of the full version dropped down?

The small update has just been approved by Apple (fast deletion + 2 fingers scrolling + 2 more levels). It took 2 weeks.

But I can't see the update featured in the new apps section of the sotre. Is an update supposed to be featured somewhere in the app store ?

Just buy your game on Russian App Store. It is on 30-35 position in Puzzle category. But no reviews. Wrote a good review, maybe it helps.

Thanks! I was just to post some feedback here. On the US store, Moonlights is 35th right now and 23th in top games.
This is just the result of being featured in "New and noteworthy".
Yesterday, about 3000 sales within the day, OMG. It feels good.
That's a pretty awesome gift from Apple. Maybe it's a gift to welcome my son born 10 days ago.

first of all hello everyone--I'm just starting to program with objective-c and cocos2d and it looks like it should be good :)

back on topic, I just saw this at 21 in "Top Paid" (and bought it) and 4th down in the Puzzle section of games in the U.S. so it looks like things are looking up :) congrats man

Some more feedback.
The game was ranked 20th 3 days ago, and now it has dropped to 28th. It's still great, but I guess the word of mouth doesn't work with the game, like it works with highly addictive game like "stick wars". When the game will disappear from "new and noteworthy" it will drop quickly I guess.

Oh thanks sunsu, that's awesome. I posted a comment there to know whose iPhone it is :)

Some more feedback about Moonlights. Now that the game is not on the front page of "New and notewrothy", the sales have dropped down to about 500 a day.

I've released a free Flash version of the game, with a banner to promote the iPhone version, here : http://www.bonuslevel.org/games/game_moonlights_24.html
So far it doesn't seem to impact the sales.

Hi jptsetung. Congrats on Moonlights, I really like the game! (Gave you an excellent review, hope it helps).
Anyway, just a question for you. For the game I'm developing I need to be able to recognize a shake using the Accelerometer. Would you mind sharing what you have done to recognize a shake? I'm using the accelerometer to control the game as well to make things more complicated, but then again, so is Moonlights. Would appreciate your help.

Hey rbooky,

Thanks. I will post the code, but before you use this, you must know that I had a LOT of complaints about it (shaking the device to pause or go back). That's why I will give it up and replace it by classic buttons on next update. I had also complaints from a user with a buggy accelerometer, he couldn't play the game because of this.

So, in the init of your cocos node ( a Layer usually ) , you have to add this :
isAccelerometerEnabled = YES;

and you add this method :

- (void)accelerometer:(UIAccelerometer*)accelerometer didAccelerate:(UIAcceleration*)acceleration {
if ((acceleration.x*acceleration.x+acceleration.y*acceleration.y+acceleration.z*acceleration.z)>SCREEN_SHAKE_LIMIT) {
//Do your shaking things
}
}

Some news about the sales, since the game is not feature on the app store anymore, they have dropped so quickly. Yesterday 42 sales... that measn the word of mouth is not strong enough on thsi game. That's life, but I hope the next update will improve things.

The app store IS the game, maybe we should design a game where you are in the feet of an iPhone developer and have to design a successful app...

@freshworks, sure let me know if they wish to wait the update being approved or if they want to test an adhoc build of the version submitted to the store today.

The v1.1 has just been submitted on the app store. I've spent so many hours on this, and now I'm happy to take some rest.

Here are some of the new features :

49 new levels
A new world (Neptune) with wind physics
User generated levels
Online scores and achievements (openfeint)
Interface improvement (buttons + text readability)

Hey, even 42 sales a day is not that bad. I'm sure it has paid for itself and some more. It's still impressive how much money can be made here, if you compare it to Windows Mobile or Blackberry environments.

You've got a really cool game and it did really good, so congrats!

Thanks plasticpower. The sales are oscilating from 20 to 40 right now.

The udpate was just rejected because of using "tiki towers" in the keywords (shame on me). They forced to resubmit the binary, so I guess I'm in for 15 more days of waiting.
