I have done soft and hard reboots. The iPod is recognised by my MAc in every other sense, just not where I need it - in XCode!

iPhone OS is 3.0 (7A341)
Maybe u should consider updating to iOS4. As long as I know, iOS4 is the only supported firmware for iPod Touch.

If I want to deploy to 3.0, am I not best keeping my device on 3.0 for testing?

By the way, I picked up some software updates overnight and it is now recognised. One was a 700Mb Mac OSX update which mentioned this issue specifically.
My only problem now is I cant seem to find an option to deploy below 3.2 in XCode? How do I select the 3.0 deployment target? Project Settings only lets me go to 3.2?

Thread moved to "SDK".
Xcode -> Project -> Edit Project Settings -> build (All Configurations) -> Search for "deployment target"

Thanks. I have iPhone OS Deployment Target set to iPhone OS 3.0.
Elsewhere in Project Settings, My Base SDK option is either iPhone Simulator 3.2 or 4.0 or iPhone Device 3.2 or 4.0.
When I try to deploy to device, I get:
The Info.plist for application at /Users/mynamehere/Documents/XCode/Cocos2d/Car/build/Release-iphoneos/Car.app specifies device capability requirements, which are not met by mynameheres iPod
In my top left hand drop down, My only options are:
Device - 3.2 -- Release -- Car -- Car-- Armv6
ANy advice appreciated.

Why am I getting this message when I am set to deployment target of 3.0?...which I cant get to work anyway

As an update, I removed a lot of value out of info.plist, and just left in Accelerometer and Open GL ES 1...now it works.
I assume it is best to set deployment device to iPhone / iPad (although that doesn't make sense if you deploy to 3.0 does it?)....I just want it to work on an iPad as a scaled iPhone app.
