   Hello, I wonder if there is a way to allow graphical designers create the application content and put the animations or particles. This is because we as developers we know how to use the engine but there is a void then between the graphical designers and us, they want something and moving a given way etc, and we will then need to implement that by code.

   is there a osX GUI with allows these people put their ideas into it and then export ?..

   Or how do you guys manage and fill this void between the designers and the programmers?

   Yes this would be extremely handy. Unfortunately this doesn't exist...

   A year or one and a half ago I already asked in this forum if anybody is willing to create something like the "game maker" for windows but for the Mac and with generated cocos2d code.

   A program like that could make the creator a millionaire in a short period of time. I'm totally sure of that. Unfortunately it would take me ages to create something like that but experienced cocos2d/cocoa guys really miss a big chance here.

   I wonder why Riq still hasn't done something like that (I know he's busy... ;o) ) and he has done that level editor thingy but something like game maker would make you very very very rich. You could sell a license for a couple of hundreds of dollars and the people would buy it like sliced bread.

   As you say, for me it will take me ages also. and Im just beginning with Cocos 2d, tough I have 3 years xp with Mac technologies, but openGL has been my nightmare always.

   I'll work on something like that after releasing v1.0. I've mentioned this before on other threads. What I want to do is a "living" editor... a sort of very very limited Unity editor but, of course, for cocos2d... an editor that lets you create and test your scene in runtime.

   Microcosm ( http://www.cocos2d-iphone.org/forum/topic/7553 ) seems to be a "non-live" editor, but I think it does what you want.

   I know this is not exactly what you're asking for. But in the WWDC sessions there's a video where Apple describes how they did a game. They made the game load all assets over HTTP. That way the graphic designers could tweak graphics and just put it on a web server. Then every time the game is launched it fetches new images from the server. That way the graphics don't have to go through the programmer and a new build is not required.

   Maybe something to think about? :)

   HTTP is neat, but AT&T would have an aneurism if you did it every time the game loads. Might be better to have your game check a small text file to see if any resources are newer than the ones on the device, and only update them. Also Airplane mode gaming would be completely cut off if you limited to only HTTP.

   Of course only do it during development while you are on WiFi :P
   Doing it with a live game would not be very wise ;)
