   Hello all,

   Introduction:
   This is my first iphone game, It is a combination of avoider and fish survival(eat to grow) games, there is also an HD version.

   Why developers will find my game interesting:
   I have used cocos2d camera to give deeper view area

   Why gamers will find my game interesting:
   It is a sipmle to learn, hard to master game requires good reflexes and 3d perception.

   Hi,

   Game looks very nice, I like the way you've made water effects. If you don't mind sharing, how did you do it?

   I found controls a little strange/confusing? If you just touch screen, fish doesn't react as one would expect, but if I touch and drag just a little fish will jump across the screen, kinda makes difficult to control?

   Also, would be nice if you move OpenFeint notifications to the top of the screen, it gets in your way quite often.

   Hi,

   You should always keep your finder on the screen, but you are right, I should have also used touchbegin event to position the fish so the start would not be confusing.

   I guess you mean caustics effect, that is actually an animated seamless caustics texture set, I generated the grid with tiled texture coordinates and pushed each cell to CCTextureAtlas object, loaded Textures to a regular NSMutableArray and and changed the frame texture of the CCTextureAtlas using a timer, in my draw method called drawQuads method of CCTextureAtlas.

   Thanks for the tip, I will consider putting the achievements to the top, but normally the bottom is less important since you need to avoid incoming predators or bigger fish.

   Thanks for the tip, appreciated!

   Regarding OpenFeing I tend to place my finger on the bottom of the screen so it doesn't obstruct the game view. What happens is that OpenFeint notification pops up and I touch it and OpenFeint windows appears in the middle of the game play.

   By the way, interesting use of Cocos2D camera. I wonder if this approach would work with other types of 2D games, for example enemies coming from far away and getting bigger when approaching, should be able to create 3D perspective, what do you think?

   They would seem OK as long as they are not tall and do not change their direction :) unfortunately this kind of illusion requires moving objects to have short projection on Y axis to look OK. Also you need new set of sprites for rotations. There are limitations, but it is possible to apply games with certain requirements, not a very generic solution.
