   So I have most of my images for my app I want to make, but I need to crop them so there isn't a white background surrounding it in my game. Is there a way to crop pictures using gimp or some other free program? I don't have photoshop.

   What software do you use to make the graphics? By using Gimp (free) you can create images without a background and save them as a .png.

   EDIT:
   I read you post again, if your saying that you have images that you did not create originally which have backgrounds, you can use gimp to properly crop them.

   @Avizzv92 Yes, that's correct. I didn't make the images. My friend is doing the artwork. The problem is, he doesn't know how to crop images either. That's why I'm trying to figure out how to do it. So how exactly can you use gimp to crop pictures?

   I don't think that the path tool is working. When I save the file and look at it in Preview, it looks like it still has the white background. I'll see when I put the picture into my app.
