Hello everyone! This is my first post on this forum, but all of the information here has been of invaluable help during the development process of our first game, and now I'm happy to say it has been released!

I'm one of the developers in Crocodella Software and the game is called Litho. It is a puzzle/board game where you need to fit all the available pieces in the board, being able to rotate them at will. There are 50 different puzzles, and most can be quite hard and addicting :)

One question. How do you handle the collision detection and snap to location?

Nothing fancy really :)

The board is represented by a two-dimensional array of chars (0 for empty, 1 for the circle block type, and so on), and so are the pieces. When the piece is released, its position is converted to a "tile position" on the board (pos.x / block width, with some extension of the boundaries so you don't have to place the piece EXACTLY right), and then each block is checked against the board. If all of them fit, CCMoveTo and CCScaleTo actions are run, followed by the "lights on" animation.

If that is not clear please ask again and I'll try my best to make it clearer :)
