   Hello,
   I am developing the game in cocos-2d.
   I am displaying the image(i.e. picture of my friend) using CCSprite.
   I have added some effects as Burns, scare etc. to that image.
   So that the image (picture) looks funny.
   Now I have to save this image with changes done.
   Please guide me saving the image from the CCSprite.

   Take a look at CCRenderTexture

   and you would use it like this:
   

   -(void) grabSpriteToTexture
   {
       //Make sure your contentSize is not zero before doing this...
       CCRenderTexture *rTexture = [CCRenderTexture renderTextureWithWidth:mySprite.contentSize.width height:mySprite.contentSize.height];
   
       [rTexture begin];
       [mySprite visit];
       [rTexture end];
   
       [rTexture saveBuffer:myFileLocationToSave];
   }

   Hi CJ, i have tried what you suggested, it does work, and i get an image saves with the content inside that rect, the problem that i face is that the image that gets saved is still 1024 * 768 (the content outside the rect gets clipped and with a white background)
   Is there a way to get it to save an image with the size of the rect instead?

   @pabloruiz, this is working normally for me. The image is saved with the same width and height as where the render texture is initialized with. Which cocos version are you using?

   Hi Araker, I am using v1.0.
   I managed to get this working in another way, here is what i did for future reference:

   CGRect cutRect = CGRectMake(sp.position.x -sp.contentSize.width/2,[[CCDirector sharedDirector]winSize] -(sp.position.y +sp.contentSize.height/2), sp.contentSize.width, sp.contentSize.height);
   
       CGImageRef imgr = CGImageCreateWithImageInRect([[UIImage imageWithData:data]CGImage], cutRect);
   
       UIImage *square = [[UIImage alloc] initWithCGImage:imgr];
   
       UIImageWriteToSavedPhotosAlbum(square, nil, nil, nil);
    [square release];
