Rocket Robot is the culmination of coding on the train, to and from work, for the past few months. I have finally managed to get all the loose ends tied up to present the finished article. For those of you old enough to remember Thrust on the BBC Micro you may see my inspiration for this game. There's even a hint of JetPac in there (and now I'm really showing my age!)
I originally wrote it as an exercise to familiarise myself with Objective-C, the Mac, the iPhone etc and was really a selfish project in the sense that I loved Thrust and fancied something similar on the iPhone! Anyway, on with the game!
ROCKET ROBOT
You control a Rocket Robot, traversing the galaxy, contracted to build rockets by navigating through 20 different space docks. You carry 4 materials to the rocket factory where they are synthesised to build space rockets. Sounds easy but...
Sentries have been left by previous occupiers that won't take kindly to your presence but thankfully you're armed to the teeth with bullets and bombs! Destroy old space girders, navigate round new ones, and avoid the electrified ones!
Asteroid storms bombard the space docks, destroying whatever falls in their path. However, they do leave behind valuable materials for space rocket manufacture. Use them to your advantage.
20 levels of stunning parallax backdrops, full physics engine, spectacular particle explosions and sound effects combine to make Rocket Robot an adrenalin fuelled, highly addictive action packed adventure! An absolute bargain!

TIPS FOR GAMERS!
There is a slight learning curve to the controls - tap, don't hold down until you're comfortable with the movement of the robot - most beta testers were flying with ease within a few games. Once you get the gist you should start to cruise through the first few levels. However, the last few are pretty tough! If you finish the game, enjoy the 'final event' !
