   Hi all!

   I'm working on my first application for iPhone and I have a question...

   Actually I test my app in the iPhone simulator, directly into my iPhone, but now I wish to give the app to my friends to betatest the application...

   what are the steps to do this and what is required to the betatesters??

   just add their iphones/ipods/ipads to your dev account the same as you would have for your own.

   you need to get their device and put it on, the certificate that you sign your app with is signd on your comp so as far as i understand you can only put it on from that computer

   But u need to be already developer, yeh? Without payment u cant give it to betatesters i think.

   You need to create an ad hoc build for your beta testers and then they don't need to be developers. The steps for doing this are fairly complicated and well documented on the iPhone developer portal.

   Once you have an ad hoc build you can send it to your beta testers and they install it via iTunes, there is no need to connect their device to your computer.

    I realize this thread is old but if someone clicks this looking for the documentation, you should go to here and look for "Creating and Downloading a Distribution Provisioning Profile for Ad Hoc Distribution" (the third option at the bottom).
