LEAD GAME DEVELOPER & CO-FOUNDER AT SEED-FUNDED STARTUP
Our startup has just been accepted to DreamIt Ventures, an exclusive seed funding / incubator program similar to Y Combinator (which we were a finalist for). DreamIt is providing us and 14 other startups with capital, working space, mentorship and a great opportunity to secure additional funding through a demo day that’s attended by hundreds of investors and entrepreneurs.
We're looking for an amazing generalist developer to join the MindSnacks founding team as a co-founder. MindSnacks is a social gaming company that’s creating products for language learning and other educational areas. Our core mission is to take a unique, entertainment-focused approach to educational games; basically the opposite of the dull learning games we all know too well.
The product we're making is a lot of fun. If you're a technical wizard and you've always wanted to break into game development, this is an excellent chance for you to make a transition. Or if you already have game development experience, this is a chance for you to apply your skills to make a real difference in the world. We aim to shake the very foundation of education.
You’ll be joining two others who have extensive experience in UI design / user experience, marketing and education. We’ll also be hiring one or two other developers.
This is an opportunity for you to be the technical co-founder of an early stage startup company whose product design has already won the favor of some of the most prestigious investors in the country. After helping us to further refine the existing design, you'll lead our development efforts. First priority will be to hire another developer to help us. We'll then work together to create versions of the product for the iPhone and Facebook, with possible expansion to the iPad, Android phones, and other devices in the future.

Required skills:
Strong programming knowledge across several languages and platforms including ActionScript 3, Java, Objective-C and/or C++
Solid understanding of algorithms, physics and math
A natural feeling for and understanding of good gameplay mechanics
iPhone game and/or cocos2d experience is a big plus
Flash/AS3 knowledge is a plus.
Facebook game experience is a plus
Examples of games, web apps and mobile apps produced
Willingness to spend May, June and July in Philadelphia for the duration of the DreamIt program
