Left a review (jmgomezg), nice game, so simple to use, and addictive. And graphics are just brilliant.
Would like to see some horizontal movement as well, may give a bit more of fun.
Also collision is too sensitive, I would personally reduce the collision detection area of objects.
But apart form that, it's a nice simple the game. Sometimes I wonder if I did complicated too much mine...Posted 1 year ago # -
@itlgames Thanks for the review! Just working on a small update at the moment which we're hoping will be up early next week. I'll take a look at the collision detection while I'm at it.
@pfg2009 We're realizing that taking a step away from a recognized genre is asking a lot of the typical app purchaser, Doh! Its all part of the learning process I guess, no one gets it right first time (apart from @zombie :)

@abitofcode Well, when we started ZombieSmash! it was not apparent that Castle defense will be an established genre and zombies are going to be everywhere and ragdolls had their rise.
It just took us so long to complete it ;)

Got the game from Aussie appstore.
Perfect execution for a simple concept! I'm hooked, hanging out to get my second golden sausage.
Congrats to you guys for a great game. :-)
Very inspiring...Posted 1 year ago # -
@websta Ta v.much :) Good luck on your second sausage.
We're considering pulling the sausages back a bit to make them easier to get but I've just checked the leaderboard and someone has 411 on medium level!
Not for much longer!!! Update due this week.

Though we may restrict these to the medium and hard levels :)

@tbone28 The new update will only post your highest score as per your suggestion (also will not post a score of zero). It is only an issue if you select the auto post option in openFeint but it appears lots of people do :s
@itlgames I've also adjusted the collision detection fractionally for the pig.
We're adding a couple of new kill scenes, some new objects and the 'mighty hanging balls of death' (seen above). We're hoping to submit tomorrow :)

I love the 'mighty hanging balls of death'!
Can't wait for the update.

Nice! I was getting today a bit longer on the game, nearly 200 points!! (didn't log into openfeint so couldn't record the score, dammit!!)
I reckon making collision area smaller may ease a bit the game as well, so keep that in mind.There was something I found today, may be just me, but after playing for a while, I needed a rest, and pressed pause button, then, when resuming, pig fell just a bit before I could reach the power button, an hit an object! Maybe after resuming you could do as you do at the start, where the pig doesn't fall until you press the power button first time.

@abitofcode do we have to avoid the chain too - or just the spikes?
Posted 1 year ago # -
Im guessing just the spikes, cause if you look at the image it would be impossible ofr the pig to get that high without hitting a chain
Posted 1 year ago # -
@Codemattic Just the spikes! the chain as well would be a little too much :) The mines on chains will be fixed items set at points in the game rather than randomly added so we'll add in a couple of new achievements as well.
We seem to have been featured in What's hot across a load of countries :s (gulp) so I'm gonna spend a little more time testing the update before I release it.

Congrats for being featured. We are on New & Noteworthy. Anybody knows the difference between them?

@abitofcode Congrats for making into the What's hot, well deserved!
BTW: While I was testing some render capabilities in Blender I came up with the following, funny STAP wallpaper ;)

coool

@Codemattic hehe cool idea, you might also need http://www.beadtool.net/ for drafting ;)

That looks awesome! What is blender?

I think that's a design tool for building Microsoft Silverlight apps.

Its an open source 3D package http://www.blender.org/ I used to use it a long time ago before I realized I really suck at graphics. It's pretty cool and reasonably intuitive plus lots of resources out there cos its free :)
There was the beginnings of a 3D game engine built into it you could control through a visual scripting type of control thingy (never quite got into that bit)

blender has a UI built for people who love vi (e.g. me). Its has a tall learning curve but extremely powerful once understood.
Watch big buck bunny to see what its capable of.

@pfg2009 As mentioned above by others, Blender became really powerful 3D package, and its free - don't want to hijack the thread about Blender, just to show how the wallpaper I made looks inside the Blender. I didn't automate anything, I just placed every ball manually with "matching" material, of course I used reference background image.

Just thought I'd hijack this blender thread ;)
Finally got the new update submitted. Yey! Amongst the new features;
* New death scenes depending on what you hit
* New objects to avoid including the mighty dangling balls of dooooooom
* OpenFeint posts only new high scores to twitter and facebook
* Tweaked collision dtection
* Missile targeting alert so you have a chance to avoid them
* Level is posted in OpenFeint social messages (Easy,Medium or Hard)
* Fixed a bug that could affect iPhone 1st generation users
* Made 1st golden sausage more attainableNow we play the waiting game (waiting game sucks lets play hungry hungry hippos)
@itigames I tried making the pig static after a pause but it had the same effect in reverse. I kept getting hit by mines that I would previously have dropped out of the way of. You could try quitting the game once paused (using the iPhone button) and then choosing the resume option this should give you a lead in.

@abitofcode Great news!
* OpenFeint posts only new high scores to twitter
Among others this one is cool, when I was totally addicted I couldn't afford to post results every couple of minutes on twitter, probably followers would report me for spamming ;)

@abitofcode - why not have a countdown timer after hitting "resume" from paused? You have 3 seconds to get ready and then you can get your thumb in position and be ready when it starts.
