Thanks for checking it out, everyone!
And nice subtle way to advertise the Forrest Folk, Phil! Right there on the top of the score list :)
Also, thanks for all the reviews and suggestions. All are very much appreciated.
Energy bar - good idea! A couple of people brought that up. I might add it in the next update.
Names - you are right. The first time people submit their score online the game should double check the name with them. If you don't specify one, the game picks one up at random for you out of a list of about ten. The idea was that when you see score markers in the game, you see something other than "Player 1". However, when you submit your score online and you haven't specified a name manually, the game should request one.
Weapons - completely random. I thought about introducing some logic, but then I got used to the randomness of it and never changed it.
Once again, thanks for your suggestions and kind reviews. Keep 'em coming...
One more point I should mention. I've spent about two months on PopFizz and it was fun, but also a little consuming. So, I dared myself to produce another game in a much shorter time. Specifically, 7 days. Over time, those 7 days became 14 days - 7 for all the bits of the game and 7 more to populate the basic engine with more guns, enemies, enemy spawning logic, etc. It was a fun experiment for me and I was thinking about blogging about the experience while I was doing it. However, the schedule left little time for me to do much of anything other than code around the clock.
If I were to write a post-mortem blog on how the game was written, would you guys be interested in reading it or would it just be a waste of time?
