Greetings fellow Cocos2ders!
I'm happy to announce my first, hopefully soon-to-be approved game, Kretures!
Kretures is a hybrid open field / fixed path Tower Defense game with the following unique (well, I haven't seen them before at least) features:
* Very large maps
* Genius creeps that avoid your defenses
* Teleport towers to let you expand your defenses to the far reaches of a map
* Enemies that can attack by land or by sea
* Dynamically rendered SVG terrain
* Levels with multiple spawn points
* Unique anti-ping-pong mechanic (tower destruction is 'free' ... but destroy too many, too quickly, and it will cost you!)
* High replayability with carefully balanced, endless waves that will challenge even the most experienced TD players
... before eventually, inevitably, overwhelming them >:)
In game pics below (you can see more at http://www.kretures.com)

The game has taken about 5 months of my life. I, like many of you, learned Cocos2d, Objective C, and the iPhone SDK developing this project. I can say with certainty that my next game will take a lot less time ;)
Kretures is Cocos 0.8.2 based. Cocos .9 series would have made my life much easier. I wouldn't have had to wrestle with updating the positions of the health bars paired to each sprite every frame. But all that evil will be undone in time for the iPad launch!
On the technical side I've developed my own
- Slide out menus
- Labeled menu items
- Panning / Zooming layer
- Fast re-indexing atlas sprite manager subclass (changing the Z order of atlas sprites every frame does take its toll when you have a few hundred of them ... unfortunately this would take some work to port to the 0.9 series codebase)
- Re-wirable menus / and menu items (more suitable for MVC style cocos 2d apps)
- Draggable menu items
- Progress timer
And many other doodads I'm sure you guys will see in the game. If there is anything listed above that would be of interest to the community, please let me know!
Thank you Riq for this great development framework you've spearheaded! And thanks so much to the whole Cocos2d community. Without you guys I'd probably still be struggling to draw my first sprite!
