It was bound to happen! SneakyInput 0.1 just went live on GitHub: http://github.com/sneakyness/SneakyInput

Check it out! Let it control you(r game)! ;)

Features:

-The same amazing SneakyJoystick everybody's come to know and love.
-Totally skinnable in any way you can think to skin it.
-New fancypants buttons! All the configurability and versatility of SneakyJoystick, in button form!
-The buttons have 3 modes: RateLimit, Holdable, and Toggleable.

@CJ I've given you collaborator access to this, to save myself fork headaches. Forkaches? O_o

Did you get around to checking out the button? I mirrored what you did with the skinning for the button as well.

It looks great!

My only criticism is that when setting isDPad = YES on an existing SneakyJoystick, the -setIsDPad method should automatically set hasDeadZone = YES and set the deadRadius to an appropriate value. Currently this check is done in the -initWithRect method, but doesn't seem to occur if the joystick is set to be a D-Pad after it's initialized.

Good catch, I didn't really expect people to try and change it after the fact, but I suppose they might.

If it's not too big of a deal, I'd greatly appreciate you submitting an issue on github (http://github.com/sneakyness/SneakyInput/issues) and I'll fix it in the next update. :)

Hi guys,

I know this thread is old, but thought it would be a good place to comment. Very nice job on the project, I'm likely to use this a lot, thanks!

There is one thing that bothered me though, the thumb object hangs over the background by 50% when in dpad mode. The same thing occurs when outside the area in joystick mode.
I dug through the code and changed it to keep the thumb inside the background.
I believe this to be a sound solution so I'm sharing...

In SneakyJoystick.m update the method updateVelocity's dx and dy values as follows:
```
if (dSq > joystickRadiusSq || isDPad) {
   dx = cosAngle * joystickRadius / 1.5;
   dy = sinAngle * joystickRadius / 1.5;
}
```

Another bump to this old thread...

That bothered me too, I fixed it by taking the thumbRadius into account by changing:
```
// Update the thumb's position
	stickPosition = ccp(dx, dy);
```
into:
```
stickPosition = ccpMult(velocity, thumbRadius);
```
since velocity is going from -1.0 to 1.0 this will limit the movement of the stick to the thumbRadius.
