Are any of you using Google AdWords to promote your games? If so, have you encountered the AdWords policy prohibiting the word "iPhone" in your ad copy? Apparently, Apple has asked Google to prohibit advertisers from using that word in their ads, and Google is going along with it. So "Hopple for iPhone" or "Play StickWars on your iPhone" are no-nos. I guess you're supposed to advertise just "Hopple for mobile phones," and pay for lots of clicks by people who own non-iPhone mobile phones.
I've requested an exception for my app (iLetDown, a health/fitness category app for breastfeeding moms), but meanwhile all my ads are in the manual-review bucket.
Why would Apple, which is presumably in favor of developers advertising to help build the app ecosystem, muzzle developers to prevent them from economically doing so?
