A fast, easy to use, free, and community supported 2D game engine
Hey everyone,
We released our first game back in December but still have no reviews listed. I'm using AppViz and see a couple written reviews, but they are not being posted? Can anyone shed some light on how many reviews you need to have before they show up on the AppStore?
Also, what have you guys been doing to get some more reviews?

I'd also like to know this. I don't think you can count on people to post a review just because you gave them a promo code (except Codemattic!). I gave out 100 codes and I have 4 reviews in the app store.
sorry for a minor thread hijack but have you tried appfigures.com instead of appviz? there is a free trial and it does auto imports of reports, hourly rank updates, etc from itunes connect. i think i learned about it from nsxdavid and love it. (i have no affiliation with them)

Sometimes when you write a review, it never gets approved by Apple. Ive written reviews that just disappeared for no reason I could think of (I was on topic, didnt use profanity, etc...)

I haven't used AppFigures yet, I did see it when I used the forum search on another thread though and it does look interesting! I will probably set up an account!
I am disappointed to hear that you gave away free promos and nobody reviewed, this is why I haven't posted them publicly (no one quested any?). It really is a shame when people just take them as they did with you redsky.
I'm still curious how many reviews you need before it switches from no reviews in the AppStore.
It's just frustrating when you have a great game and no reviews. People are loving the trivia game, over 4000 questioned answered in the first week has to say something for the free version! :)

Maybe a game should put up a dialog "Would you like to rate this game in the app store (yes, no, ask again later)" that can take them directly to the store. Of course you would only ask players who have played the game a lot assuming that they are having a good time and would give you a decent rating/review. That could help counteract all the ratings you get from people deleting the app off of their device and pushing your ratings down.

Has anyone tried that to be able to provide feedback on success / failure of the approach?
I too don't understand the reviews very well. I even have many people take the time to email me to say how much they appreciate a particular app, yet only 1-2% of those leave a review.
