I have a lengthy tutorial written and I want it to look good on the forums,
whenever I try to codeblock a chunk of code it looks ugly, whats the markup for that?
I try html style < code > and doing backtick code backtick doesn't seem to display what i see from others' post

Just put a backtick before and after your source - there is no need to type "code".
