Has anyone thought about new texture shader effects yet for the 3GS? I just picked mine up & it has me thinking about...all kinds of things. Hoping on the GPU with custom shaders might be a lot of fun & give (at least the 3GS folks) great looking games.

As soon as I get one, I will start playing with it. The idea would be to enable / disable OpenGL ES 2.0 features in cocos2d at compile time.
But I think that in Argentina the iPhone 3G S won't be available until August 20th.

You still are in Germany right?
So, ask for one in Belgium or Italy, they will work worldwide.

I'm pretty experienced w/ shaders on the pc side of things. One of the
nicest effects that makes a difference is motion blur. You can see it
in action @ http://www.omnicentre.ca/outofspace/ in the video
section.. it's one I built a demo for on windows w/ shaders.Other than that, fire effects are nice but I'm not sure that the
device would handle it that well, also fluid effects are pretty neat.For cocos2d, high quality motion blur would be great.
