I am running into a bit of an annoyance with the Animation action.
Here is my situation: I have a sprite of a wizard walking. After a period of time, the wizard casts a spell, so the animation changes to the wizard casting the spell. The problem is, the spell casting animation I was provided with is a different size than the walking animation - it is a bit wider.
The solution, of course, was to move the wizard a bit so that it does not look like he shifts strangely. This worked, but I've noticed something weird. When I run the animation action on the wizard, it sometimes take two frames before anything happens. That means that, on occasion, it appears as if the wizard shifts forward (as I move him to account for the difference in size), then quickly backwards when he changes frame.
I am literally changing his position and running the animation action one line apart from each other. Has anyone else run into this problem? Do they have any advice on how to solve it? Or should I just get my artist to resize the wizard walking animation to fit with the spell cast animation?
