Hey guys,

Any info on how I get the older SDK's available in the simulator?

I'm currently running OSX Lion/Xcode 4.2.1 and the only SDK's I seem to have available are 4.3 and 5.0.
I'm wanting to run some tests on iOS4.0 and so could benfit from having the 4.0 SDK available, but I'm not sure how to install it.

Anyone able to help?

It's included in the older XCode downloads.

Does this mean that the only way for this is to work is to have both sets of Xcode installed? Can the older SDK's not be imported anyway into the later release?

@breskit As far as I know (according to Apple) older Xcode 3.2.6 does not run on Lion.

Bugger.

So I guess back to my original question then, is there a way I can get the older simulator in the most recent Xcode?

Xcode 3.2.6 is running on Lion you just have to edit one file inside the *.dmg (google for that).

Also you can copy the SDK's and Simulator-files from the 'Xcode 3.2.6'-folder to the 'Xcode 4.2'-folder. I've tried this out and it works without problems.

@ayt - that's exactly what I did, just to see if it worked.

For anyone that wants to know it worked a treat. I had the 3.2.6 DMG file and never needed to edit anything to install the old version. Word of advice though, make sure iTunes and Xcode have been closed properly (use QUIT).

In doing this it seems to have caused a number of issues. Xcode behaves a bit weird now and iTunes no longer recognises my iPhone correctly (even after updating iTunes today!).

Time to rewind things....
