We are a major independent game developer looking for one Senior and one Junior cocos2d app programmer to continue ongoing development of globally released games as well as a myriad of new games that extend our global brand.

We have an unlimited amount of work and are looking to add a couple more rockstar or soon to be rockstar programmers to our team for our apps that are in 12 different languages in 123 countries.

Our games include freemium, premium and paid formats so you will be expected to understand a myriad of 3rd party SDK's that support ad mediation, storekits, offerwalls and credit based gaming.

Our games include Game Center, Competitions, Subscriptions and In App Purchases, Rich Push Notifications and more.

You should have solid experience in

• IOS OS 4.0+, 5.0+
• Mac OSX
• Cocoa / Touch
• Objective C
• XCode
• iPad and Iphone App targeting framework for multiple releases of identical app
• Localizations
• OpenGL
• Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG)
• Universal app, SD, Retina and HD Targeting, stand-alone app creation and development
• Memory management
• Java / JSON
• Bonus for HTML, PHP, MySQL and JSON experience as our games also have connections to each of them.

You will work closely with our Lead Designer and Lead Developer who are gurus at gaming design, framework and architecture that deals with all of the above and more. We are an easy going fun group of people that have a passion for building the best of the best and our products prove it. We keep a very low profile on the secrets behind our success of our products and the proprietary nature of what we do with confidentiality agreements so we do not disclose much here but will create an open and comprehensive dialogue with those who response and meet what we are looking for.

Of course we do. Anyone that posts anything in public forums, or even your own blogs, knows that you get spammed to absolutely no end these days and we simply use gmail as a filter. Further, we have confidential things that we do not wish to disclose publicly.

With all due (or undue) respect, if you wish to submit a resume, CV and email for consideration, please, reread the original posting and then act accordingly.

We are looking for a very specific set of conditions in what and who we hire and our screening process follows the exact same reasoning behind why we don't "sleep with [hire] every person that finds our [products] attractive". We are exceptionally discriminating, because we can be, ...we write the checks for the services performed and call it a day. This isn't a request to "work for free or barter or with sweat equity", and even if it was, we've found that our initial filtering process above, within itself, be just as necessary as it is an incredibly effective method on a myriad of levels as an ends that justifies its means ...ones that are not necessary to be explained to anyone other than those that wouldn't qualify for what we want or need in the first place! For the simple sake of perspective and humor to keep this as light and fluffy as possible, I will say that it does in fact ironically mirror the most basic part of code programming:

IF (you can't follow the first set of instructions) THEN (you are automatically self disqualified for the job)!!!

This is NOT a posting for the COMPANY to prove ITSELF TO ANYONE that reads it, but in fact, like all offers for work by any company, big or small, known or unknown, it is a requirement where the APPLICANT MUST PROVE THEMSELVES TO THE COMPANY, who at the end of any work day, the COMPANY is the arbitrator of the job in the first place by the mere fact that the COMPANY is the paying party ...otherwise the APPLICANT would be PAYING THE COMPANY for the job and not the COMPANY PAYING THE APPLICANT!

The posting is a job offering that pays the RIGHT Applicant based on their skill sets, ...plain and simple. No need to create a crucifixion here, berate the posting or split any atoms! It's not a marriage proposal with a mandatory dowry!!! You either have the desire to seek gainful employment and work and get paid well for it or you don't!

And no Tom, the name of the company is NOT Primirical. Let me save you from your witch hunt into the intangible abyss of cyberspace through the almighty search engine algorithms of Google to validate your search sanity. Our initial filtering process (and everything we do) is so ingeniously and subliminally designed (just like our apps and the intellectual property that they are founded on), it requires us to invent an original contact name in the email to ensure that it nets you a Google search of absolutely ZERO results on purpose, and that is NO easy feat!!! Your posting proves that our mission is accomplished! You couldn't find us! Unbeknownst to you, the original posting has a built in IQ test, one designed to net anyone that employes it an instant result of a reader's (candidate's) capacity to do deductive reasoning 101 by way of their response of, "a post of diatribe" or "an email with a resume", aka an OR/ELSE statement. Either (send us a resume) OR ELSE (automatically disqualify yourself)! This is code programming, not rocket science! LOL, oh wait, they can be one and the same afterall! :)

It never ceases to amaze us how esoteric instructions can't be followed on even the most basic level which prompts us to question how on earth anyone that doesn't innately follow them BEFORE they get hired could possibly be expected to handle the task of complex code implementation into apps with a couple hundred thousand lines of code, thousands of PNG and plist assets and a plethora of moving parts AFTER they get hired! I think Desi Arnaz famously coined the phrase that says it best, "Lucy, ...Lucy, ...Lucy!!!".

All great companies need people that are innate problem solvers and we are no different, we too seek those that are producers that net "results" to end challenges, not "excuses" for why they can't even begin.

There is a reason why rockstar programmers are so hard to find ...and it follows the same paradigm of the exact same reason why less than 1/2 of 1% of ALL of the apps on the App Store generate more than 85% of all of the revenue. The question answers itself for those that are part of that group.

To quote "Omar" from "The Wire", "You must mistake me for someone who repeats himself". I don't want to repeat the original posting, ...but for the sake of humor for those that can find it in reading this far... I will repeat part of it, just to show that we take no real offense to Spanish Inquisition above....

Rockstar programmers,... we hope to hear from you because "we know you are out there!"

Well, that was blown completely out of proportion.

I don't see the need for all the secrecy. But each to their own. Personally I like to do my research on a company/person before giving all my contact details and sensitive information to them.

I don't see anyone berating you as you claim, just simply asking for a link.

Touché Varedis! We don't see the need to explain ourselves that we wish to hire someone skilled in the relevant art of code programming, anymore than you see the need for the secrecy. One day you may know what it's like to work at Apple and understand why Steve Jobs insisted on so much secrecy for the details on the release of the NEXT iphone, when in fact, we all know what an IPHONE is. It's called big business that generates hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue on a scale that is unconscionable to anyone incapable of inventing something of such genius or stature to begin with ...and further ...they are called trade secrets and those that have them, protect them and those that don't are the ones that find it unconscionable.

Now that Zynga is publicly traded, here is the latest billion dollar story in the gaming world that illustrates this point in the value and great lengths "gaming" companies go to to protect their "trade secrets" can be found here.

I think it was somewhere around page 10 or 11 where they illustrated the TREASURE TROVE of data in the 1-A SEC filing that EVERYONE in the industry drooled over when it was finally released.

Game programming is not a hobby for everyone Varedis... it's a billion dollar global business for some of us and we treat it accordingly.

We have a mandate and I'm required to follow it, even if it doesn't make everyone happy. It's kinda like driving 55 mph on a US highway, when we have open road and can do 100mph... they are the rules. Doesn't make me happy to follow seemingly stupid rules, but I drive 55 none the less unless I want a ticket. Worse, I don't get to ask the cop to prove that his radar gun worked before he writes me the ticket if i do get pulled over regardless of the speed i was doing. He says, subpoena the records in Court if you want to fight it and then you can have them. Seems so backwards, but it is what it is. So with that in mind, sorry, no intent to be rude, just following the rules of hiring someone for the company. In any event, best wishes to you too Tom.

Either you are trying to pull the wool over our collective eyes, or you are just the worst person your company could've picked for this job.

This forum is decidedly not a place for pompous swagger, telling everyone how great and successful you are – providing not a shred of proof thereof – and suggesting that you are the ones who would do us, the developers of this friendly, open community, some kind of service by letting us send you our cv:s and contact info for the off chance that you consider us "rockstars".

Come back when you've learned some basic manners and have taken at least 30 minutes to check out the forum and what it's like. Maybe your way of behaving is considered acceptable in other fora, but not here.

Edit: Just saw your latest response and I'm glad to see you seem to have mellowed a little. Kick it down another notch or too and people might actually start respecting you a little.

Do you really think anyone worth hiring would throw himself into someone whose information is unknown? People worth hiring are usually smart and tend to be cautious by researching where he's applying to.

Your name just flat out violates Hasbros® federally registered trademark of Yahtzee® that is protected worldwide.

Scryb, what's most amazing is that Hasbro® hasn't filed a United States federal lawsuit against you for trademark infringement with the name of an app called Yatch that is a dice game that blatantly advertises how you can even use the copyrighted games and paradigms Yahtzee® into it!!!

What's even more amazing is that Apple let it through into the store. One SINGLE "Cease and Desist" letter from Hasbro® and your time invested in your game will send it packing into the eternal depths of "PERMANENTLY BANNED" from the App Store and the best it will be able to do is make it to #1 on the Scryb store limited to your own personal 100 Ad Hoc UDID's you can install it on due to your ® infringement pursuant to the USPTO and Apple policy. Further Apple has been known to permanently ban app developers altogether for violation of intellectual property laws in their App Store.

Just as a funny story, I remember applying for a job at Rockstar Games, I don't remember them creating a fake email address or company on the job advert. Or when I went for the interview, removing all the Rockstar logos from the offices or taking the pictures of their previous games off the wall. They didn't blindfold me as I walked past the countless computers each showing unreleased games or make me sign any sort of NDA contract for what I had seen and heard from their employees.

Come to think of it Codemasters never did that either. Maybe I was just lucky picking the only two companies who don't do the sort of stuff you clearly do.

Zaaroth, you are right, smart people do their research... but they are even smarter than that... they know that you don't get hired instantly and become legally obligated to work for someone by sending in a resume and they are even SMARTER THAN THAT, they won't work for someone even after they have sent in a resume if it isn't someone they want to work for!!! Goodness gracious! These responses remind me of the news story below and the blog responses to the ABSURDITIES of this article.

If the hiring process start like this I bet your developers are as incompentent are you are to handle this situation you yourself have created. I would not work with that kind of people so I would have to do their stuff as well as mine. I dont know which company you work at, but I hope they dont see this thread and get you fired...

The most basic rule for hiring talented people is to make them feel home from the start. I am not even a hiring manager and I already know that. This lesson is for free. Let me know and we can negotiate a fee so you learn a bit more.

Actually, I already showed it to my superiors and they approved it all and insisted that I continue on EDUCATING PEOPLE and on how to GET HIRED by ANY company, starting with the BASICS like "follow the instructions" to "send in a resume"...

Actually they said it's no wonder why the unemployment rates around the world are so high! People can't even follow instructions. Be it, "wear a condom if you don't want to spread AIDS" to "don't text and walk across the street at the same time" yet 6,000 people annually are hit and killed texting on their phones in a crosswalk because people don't follow instructions!!!

But that's not all, "act now and don't delay and get a pair of ginsu knives" when you have to impart the legal warnings to others like Scryb on trademark infringement. Actually, he should be charged for the invaluable widsom imparted here above.

He should voluntarily REMOVE HIS APP and RENAME IT to, "Duh Dice" or something like that... as far away from Yahtzee as possible.... because the legal costs Scryb should expect to face alone are nothing less than $5,000 USD retainer to simply file a response to Hasbro® and $25,000 to file a response in Federal Court if they persist in getting summary adjudication, of which they are famous for doing as the Scrabulous lawsuit unequivocally proves.

As a matter of fact, I *have* been talking with Hasbro's lawyers, and that's why I use that name. Perhaps your "little" rant was a bit unnecessary considering you are flat out wrong and don't know what you're talking about. As far as I can see, Yahtzee is only a trademark in the US. If you search WIPO, the only registration for that mark is in France, and is not about a dice game.

Oh, and just what did you mean by this: "advertises how you can even use the copyrighted games and paradigms Yahtzee® into it"? (I don't mean the grammatical errors.)

I'd also like to see how you make me out to be a hypocrite, considering I said nothing about my own game, will gladly tell anyone it is a Yahtzee clone, and have never said there's anything wrong about copying game concepts.

I'm not sure if you intended to scare me or parade your superior knowledge and intellect around, but you succeeded in neither.

Words with Friends proves that you can copy a method once a patent has expired. Duh. We aren't talking about copyright or patents here Scryb. Keep your Apples in your Apple Bin and your Oranges in your Orange bin.

We are talking about TRADEMARK INFRINGEMENT. Scrabulous proves you can't infringe on a mark. Just because the mark isn't "registered worldwide" doesn't mean that they don't have filing date PRIORITIES. The World Intellectual Property Organization has reciprocating guidelines it follows. Hire yourself a IP attorney!

Maybe I didn't say it clearly enough for you to understand: I have talked to them (notice the past tense, not present as in "am talking"). It's in the past. We're through it. We have an accord, so to speak. And no, they did not send me a cease and desist notice, they probably would have if I had insisted on using a name they didn't approve of, but they are a lot politer than you are.

I think it's telling that as your temper worsened, so too did your grasp of English grammar and style.

Regards to those of you who stayed in the background and read but didn't respond.... may have silently laughed, shrugged or shook your head at the insanity of this diatribe, when all that was originally posted was a job offer and instead... a bunch of suspicious, angry, disheartened, disgruntled, unemployed or whatever adjective you'd like to throw in the adlib of __________ has been a part of this.

if there is any grand lesson we hope was taken from this... is that if you had questions for the company, you should have showed some real professionalism and PRIVATELY emailed them instead of revealing your true character here online. We now know definitely who NOT to hire. Mission partly accomplished. So at least I got paid for doing my job, filtering out the non-sense.
