Hi everyone! I'm quite new to the forum, so I thought I'd start out with a doozie.
Now that iPad 3 is coming along (rumored around) March/April with its (rumored) double-resolution screen and the iPhone 5 with its (rumored) 4" screen, how do you see the future of accessibility and universality in Cocos and iOS apps in general?
While the new iPhone's increase in screen size will most likely keep the pixel resolution the same, meaning the ppi would only change, I see the introduction of 2K resolution for the iPad quite alarming. Currently the best practice seems to favor universal apps, but will it be wise to have universal apps, where an iPhone user is required to download very high resolution graphics without ever using them. Could it be that Apple will somehow provide a universal approach where the instance of the app is the same, but the resources are downloaded from separate sources based on the platform it is being downloaded to?
Any thoughts on this? How will it be handled? Are we gonna be expected to produce 3-4 separate sets of graphics for our apps?
