Speaking as a print production manager (and before that, a prepress technician), Gill Sans anything can be a nightmare. There are many versions of that font floating around and some just do not display properly.
From a design standpoint, I personally don't find it to be a very attractive font either. The lowercase 'i' always bugged the hell out of me with the small dot above it. There are plenty of non-Gill Sans fonts in a similar weight that will look (and probably work) a whole lot better. This is my opinion of course ;)
If you really need it and still can't get it to work, you could always try editing the bitmap file in Photoshop and manually placing the correct Gill Sans letter in the appropriate positions. A pain, I know...
