   I've searched the site and couldnt come up with this issue. Please point me in the right direction if someone else does.

   Here's my problem. I'm trying to use BitmapFontAtlas with both Hiero and Bitmap Font Generator fnt files, to get a 14 or 16 point font for a timer. Everything loads fine, but the fonts display crappy, as in having strange color/thickness changes for the same characters on display. So I have a timer that shows 00:00:00 and starts counting up. On every second that it ticks the 00's that dont change get thicker or thinner for no reason.

   Anyone else come across this? Is it some setting in these applications that I should be setting?

   Since I love following up on my own posts, I will like to add that it doesnt seem to be a font issue, as using the sample fonts from the cocos2d examples exhibits the same behavior.

   Also, I am not changing the opacity or color in any way. I am just creating it, adding it to my layer, and calling setString on it every tick.

   I am guessing it has something to do with Antialiasing or blending, but I cannot figure it out. I've tried setting Pixel formats, tried the set2Dprojection call, and nothing. The fonts still look like they're either changing opacity or their antialiasing changes.

   I am the king of font problems...

   Can you try with a fixed size font and see if that still happens. If so, I'd say it's a subpixel position problem.

   I have the same issue =/
   I've tried adjusting padding but I'm not sure why BitmapFontAtlas doesn't display exactly like the sample shown in heiro. It may be due to cocos2d's implementation.

   It has 2 or 3 important fixes in the BitmapFontAtlasCode

   @Riq: I'll check out the svn version at some point later.

   What I found after playing around a bit is that the artifacts/strangeness disappears (to my eyes)/gets less noticeable if you set the anchor point to (0,0).
