   Congrats, looks very nice, and unique. Particle effects fit in nicely as well.

   Could you detail some basics on the game build. E.g. do you use chipmunk or is it using custom math to handle the orbit trajectories, and the touch handling to nudge the planets?

   I'm using Chipmunk for physics. The interactions between planets and the sun is done by using custom velocity_func(), which updates velocity of all planets depending on their relative distance and mass.

   When I started working on the game, I decided to use "real world" formulas to calculate forces between planets. But it soon appeared, that the game was much to difficult to control - the planets would accelerate very much when approaching the sun, and and then run away far from the screen. To make it more playable, and keep the planets relatively close to the sun, I needed to modify few coefficients in the formula.

   I spent a total of 3 month on development of this game. During that period, I learned a bit about Cocos2D and OpenGL. I also made few private patches to Cocos2D. One of the most important for me was the introduction of "textureRect" property in TextureNode class. This way I could define a Sprite displaying only given fragment of the whole texture. Of course, there's always AtlasSpriteManager which can do that, but sometimes you just want do have a single sprite.

    Your game looks awesome! I'm trying to develop a orbit based game myself for my senior project though the goal is quite different. I was fooling around with the custom velocity equation myself but couldn't figure out a good way to use it. Would you mind detailing how you implemented the custom velocity? I figured I could compute a vector for each object to the central mass, the sun, and then compute the gravity off that but it doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? Thanks.

    I am using chipmunk. My question was specifically how to set a custom velocity function and initial forces etc. so that it orbits a central object realistically. The documentation on the function is paltry.
