Very interesting.
it says: "Upgrading from a lite version to full version is the most common reason for buying a paid app"
Get your lites out there!
Anyone else notice that under "Monthly App Download Frequency" the 22% bar is bigger than the 30% & 27% bars?
Anyhow, good info. Thanks for posting!
72% of all statistics are made up.
Seriously though, that picture is just terrible. The report it's based on is slightly more readable: http://metrics.admob.com/2009/08/july-2009-metrics-report/
Is this chart made up too ? video game percentage
I do agree about the lite version, my lite version of Ballz! - Pro Version was released late Sunday and yesterday I saw a jump of 400% in sales, there has been 4000+ downloads of the lite version in 1 day, it sits at Number 2 in the Russian Family section and in the top 10 in Japan, I mention Japan because it is a hard market to get anything accepted by the Japanese and I did translations of the App Store description in various languages including Japanese, I've never had anything in Japan that exposed so quickly. It's is in the top 50 in most of the App Stores across the world. So yes get your lite versions done!!
How do Japanese sales compare with US sales?
I have one question (thread hijacking) how do you keep track of your application in so many stores? I can beraly find my app in one store...... Any secret behind this?
Not huge, US sales are like 50% but Japan is considered to be in the top 8 of App stores, if you can get a following in Japan you will get very reasonable sales. I should mention France and Germany, which I also did translations for, Germany is considered to be the number 2 or 3 store with the UK depending on who you ask, The lite version sits at Number 15 in the German Family section and 14 in France. I have lite version for my other games but this one has done far better in 1 day than others in 2 weeks.
Holy crap this is amazing, thanks cublah!! I'm cut out of the world (how come I don't know about these softwares...?)
From my stats, US is 72% of my total sales, next is UK then Germany and then France.
This is pretty much what the all say...
1. US
2. UK
3. GR
4. FR
