I purchased particle designer recently and I noticed that the emulation I see in particle designer never seems to be what I end up with in my app. My guess is that the issue probably has to do with the fact that my app generally runs at about 30FPS.
Another issue I see is that on the occasion when a particle design is working well initially, it often seems that if I let it continue to run for a while, eventually it seems like the particle are all bunched up and emit in waves, rather than a nice steady steam.
I searched the forums and while I found people discussing performance I hadn't found any discussion regarding minimum FPS requirements for stable particle emitters, so I thought I would ask if other have seen these types of issues and if anyone know a good workaround. Right now, Particle designer (while a great tool otherwise) is of little help to me simply because it's preview mechanism never reflects my in-app performance.
Any insight would be appreciated.
