Did it have to be so broken? It looks like all the cocos2d source's pathways are under /Users/cocos2d/ and /Users/cocoslive. Really? Do I really have to create 5 users to make this template work? Can't you just make the file with no OS specific configs? It's really annoying to have to work for hours to just get a hello world.

Why don't you try the template that comes with cocos2d v0.8X ?

@napierzaza: probably you are doing something wrong. just untar.gz the tar.gz file in the directory that you want, or do what @pabloruiz said.
