Sorry, I'm a bit lost now, is not what we are doing? We put together some ideas, decide a few of them to implement, then do it, I am 100% sure no one is going to object any of the new improvements. But from my 15 years experience developing software, we cannot wait too long to decide what to do, cos we will never start doing it. I have been taking suggestions on the games tab since the very beginning, from the people interested, and I will keep doing so. People have been reading this thread for the last 5 days so if anyone has any objection, I'm sure they will say so. And most of the ideas we suggest to do now, come from their suggestions, like rating and new ways to categorize, or quality filtering. So we have it, we already have the input from the community. Why wait?
Also I'm not saying everyone has to step away, I don't know where you got that idea, I have told before if anyone wants to help, more than welcome, but your attitude, if I'm honest with you, was a bit aggressive, was more like "let's get rid of that games tab and do something completely new, cos I think is shit", I wonder how Riq would feel if anyone would come and say "I will re-do cocos2d from scratch, and will take handle of it from now on". Not sure if I'm overreacting, but that has been my feeling in the last 5 days, but still I have been nice.
I am also ultimately responsible of the games tab, and I am not dropping that responsibility, but that doesn't mean I'm the only one involved, anyone interested could ask access to the code and send patches or fixes, the games tab works under similar license the rest of the other products. What I am saying is, it will be easy to me do code those changes now, cos I did it in the first instance, and have some free time in the next weeks.
The general feedback from this thread is, do not create anything new, just improve what we have. That why I have chosen a few things I think are not too complex to implement, realistic things, and suggesting to go ahead. Also that why I am saying some other things suggested are not worth, cos we can already achieve using the rest of the tools, like the forum or blog.
So let's keep in touch, and no offense, let's stop talking and start coding.
EDIT: arggg, you see? page number 4 and we have not started yet!! :P
