I was just wondering, who is in your development team? Or are you the sole developer?
I'm the core (only) programmer, and my partner does most of the artwork/multimedia.
Who is in your dev team and does everything work out well?

I just run the whole show by myself :). I'd like hire a creative writer for my next game though.
I feel like more of us should band together :)
I'm the only (for now) developer, we hired a team of designers and
made an agreement with a musician for our first game (still in
development). For the next game we will integrate at least one
designer to the company. Working with an external team of designers
was a quick decision we had to make at the beginning of the
development, if we had to do it again, we would've integrated the
designer in the core team from start...
Anyway... it all depends on what kind of game you're making and at
what level of professionalism you want to work (if you're just
developing games for fun, or you're going to live out of making games).
Also, I have to say that I have a great experience in software
development, managing teams and big projects, but this is the first
time in game development. It has been a really great experience!! :-)
(there are lots of great books on the subject also, maybe we could
create a wiki page on books about it?... thinking it twice, they
should be in the resources page)
Cheers!

I'm mostly doing stuff by myself, but will pull in an artist from work from time to time to help with an app. So far my biggest obstacle is a combination of lack of time and lack of energy to stay on one thing. I work on console games during the day, so often after the kids go to bed you just don't feel like coding anymore. And if you do, it's usually more fun to start something new than to finish the game you're working on. Thus, I have 3 apps shipped (one game, two kids apps) and about 8 started.
I am the sole programmer in my Team (Lyle Pratt). Jordan Gadapee does all of the graphic design and artwork. Greg Hennigan does all of the sound design and composition.
I'm also a one-man-band for now, this is my first game (near completion), it's a huge struggle finding the time to do all the coding and the art work too.
Not to mention that the art work is mediocre at best...
If this goes well, I'd love to try and make a living out of it and hire designers and artists.
I also am the main and unique developer. But pijam coder that means I have another main work and iPhone coding by night and weekends.
I think in the next game I'll look to parnertship with a designer, I have severe lacks there.
Just me. .
Me, my designer and our sound guy :)
It's just me. I am finally getting close to uploading my first game (I have one non-game app in the store). The sound/graphics are just not up to snuff, but it's all for fun. I am a patent attorney during the day, so it's not easy to make time. We really should band together more.
In these early stages of development, it's entirely me with the little time that I have (a common trend I notice). As I get better at Objective-C, and other aspects of iPhone programming and take on more complicated projects, I will definitely reach out to more artistic and musically oriented people as I possess neither of these skills. :)
I feel that more of us should be banding together to work on projects. Not only can we share our experiences, develop apps faster, but it will also be fun. Probably will be more successful that way too.
I wonder if we can eventually have a specific region board where people in the same area can work on apps together. Would probably bring the community closer together too.
Me for programming, I currently work with a gfx artist, and a friend who is a hobby musician does the musics.
We plan to release our first real game based on Cocos2D at the end of the month. The engine and graphics are mostly done, but all the gameplay, levels and flow still need to be put together.
I wish I could hire people though, my ideas list is so full. :-D
I'm working all by myself on this as a hobby project, though I wish I had someone to offload the art onto (and maybe the sound). Creating my sub-par graphics takes significant time that could otherwise be spent on nerdy coding tasks (which I much prefer).

ob1 - You got a great dev team, I wish I had a hobby musician to do the music :/ Music is a thing that took up a lot of time on our end.. it's difficult to find the appropriate music for a game.

allenfjordan - Getting someone to do the art, and a separate person to do the sound, would be a great idea. Graphics is one of the most important things for a game, you need graphics to convince people that your game is worthwhile and enjoyable. I hate to say, but nerdy coding tasks kind of comes last if you want your app to be popular (although it is the most valuable part of the app) :/
Good luck to all you single developers!
