I would be curious to know your ratio reviews/downloads for your games. Mine with Moonlights is about 1.3% (13 reviews for 1000 downloads)
[edit] you can get all your reviews with this amazing opensource app : http://code.google.com/p/reviewscraper/

Mini Taxi has been out for nearly 5 days now, and so far has an average of 7 reviews for each 100 downloads, so 7% there.
Although, I did ask a few favors ;)
Either you find an enthusiast for your game, or I don't really think most people would bother with a review.
Thanks for the pointer regarding reviewscraper, I couldn't remember the name of that app.
I've been using AppViz which is very nice I must say, it's nice to see graphs :)
On a sidenote, how long did it take Moonlights to "start rolling"?
Did that happen after a while, or did it happen when/if it was featured somewhere (sorry, I can't remember if it was)?
It's difficult to know if things are going well or not ;)
Thanks!
just to check - are you guys talking about the number of written reviews or star ratings?
I was talking written reviews
Yes written reviews. 7%! that's a lot of reviews, what do you mean "ask a few favors?", a popup asking to add a review inside the game ?
Well not really, game has only been out a few days and hasn't made many sales.
Most of the reviews are from people that got a promotional code for it, with a friendly hint as to how a review might help boost the game a little and would be appreciated.
Subtlety is king :)
A part from promoting the game and trying to talk about it, I feel like there's not much else one can do except hope that Apple sees potential in the game so they can make some money out of it.
Sigh.
Hi,
I hope some more people will post here their ratio. I would be most interested in the ratio star-ratings/sales as I assume this should be more accurate.
I will post our ratio when we release our game.

My ratio reviews/downloads:
Lunar Ball (Paid): 1 written review per 60 downloads (1.6%).
Lunar Ball - Lite (Free): 1 written review per 642 downloads (0.156%).
Extreme Snake (Paid): 1 written review per 50 downloads (2%).
Virtual Dice (Free): 1 written review per 3687 downloads (0.027%). 36 total written reviews
Zach, do you have also numbers for starratings/downloads? On how much sales/downloads is this based?
-zombie
Zombie, is there an easier way to gather the number of star ratings there are besides going to each app store and checking? I am currently using AppViz but it only tells me how many written reviews there are.
(These are US only star ratings/downloads)
Virtual Dice (Free): 1 rating per 14.5 downloads (6.86%).
Lunar Ball (Paid): 1 rating per 17 downloads (5.88%).
Lunar Ball - Lite (Free): 1 rating per 23 downloads (4.36%).
Extreme Snake (Paid): 1 rating per 17.5 downloads (5.7%).
I've kept an eye on any article I can find over the last year that states sales numbers and looked at total# of reviews as nearest to the article/info as possible (US store only) and it seems around a 60:1 ratio of DLs to reviews on average, but that said there are some examples of apps that seem to have much lower or higher ratios, some as high as 100:1 or as low as 30:1. For my own very rough guess as to how much a given app has made I use #total US appstore reviews * 60 *0.7. I know it doesn't take the rest of the world into consideration, or the wide fluctuation of ratios, but it is better than nothing. I've heard people say as little as 2% of their sales come from the ROW, and some say as much as 50% come from ROW... sooo.... all as accurate as guessing the # of ice pellets in a hail storm.. ok maybe slightly more accurate :)
@Zach,
we do not have any apps in the appstore right now, so I hvae no idea how to get starrating for the world. But your ratio for the US seems much more stable for starratings compared to the reviews.
-zombie
From Zach statistics, it seems that lite versions get very few written reviews compared to full versions. That makes sense, when you pay for something you care more than when you don't pay.
But as zombie just posted above, star ratings ratio are much more stable.
