I am trying out Denshion demo that shipped with cocos0.8. In the simulator 2.2, 2.21, or 3.0 I only get background music, no other button outputs sound. There are not any errors in the log file and breakpointing through the code the call is happening. I built it to my device and it all works normally. Any ideas what the issue is? I would like to be able to test audio through simulator.

Lack of sound in the simulator is usually caused by a problem with the OpenAL driver. Some know problems are:

You have a hackintosh with an unsupported sound card - nothing you can do;
*
You have a PPC based Mac - if it doesn't work you are probably out of luck;
*
There is a DivX codec causing problems - remove the codec;
*
Audio output is being directed to the simulator - go into System Preferences/Sound and set a different output.
I did have parian codecs installed. I removed them and still have the same problem, so if anyone has any ideas. My mac is a mac mini/intel and audio output is going to the only output option there is in sound settings.
