I think you misread the explanations ; you don't split up images, you split up the canvas (which is called "larger texture", "empty texture" and also "the original texture" on the site). In the illustration, rectangle 1 is an image and rectangle 2 is another image.

ahh! Yeah I'll implement this ASAP then. It looked as if the code was chopping images up to make them fit!

Hi All,
I added support for the mkatlas.pl algorithm. It does not support spacing but is available with a few options under the Arrange menu as Complex by Width and Complex by Height.
Remember all sorting options sort the array one way and then reverse it so make sure you use each option twice to see the best packing for your images.

Wow, I knew what to expect but still, that's awesome ! Thanks a lot !

From what I can tell the algorithm works really well with either very similar sized images or lots of tall and skinny or short and wide together the way it's branching works.
Again depends what your frames are coming in :)

Hey, I am not able to import some of the png images into the tool to make texture. It is working with most of the images. But the problem is occuring with certain images. The size and dimension of these images are same as others
I dont think anybody has faced this problem. Am I going wrong somewhere??

This tool is very nice, it saves a lot of texture space for me, tank you zwopple.
But I have one problem : What exactly is the offset ? i thought the offset is the number of trimmed transparent pixels but that can't be ?
And I have one suggestion : It would be nice to store the orgininal size of an image(untrimmed) but maybe it's not needed anymore when I know how the offsets work.Posted 2 years ago # -
Can anyone tell how to use it offline? I saved the .sfw file but it wont load images when i'm offline.
Also today online version doesn't work. It loads images but doesn't arrange em at all.
Maybe author making some updates right now?
Great packer anyway.
Thanks!Posted 2 years ago # -
I noticed it not working correctly in firefox, but working fine in safari recently.

@zwopple Great tool. Suggestion: it would be really, really, really awesome to be able to select a color which would then become transparent. For example, say I have a graphic of a barbarian sprite with a brown background. It would be so cool to just select the brown area and then all the brown in the sprite map becomes transparent.
Is this something you are considering doing? If so, when? If not, how can I help code it?

Couldn't you just do that in photoshop or gimp?
Although I see the point in it, it's probably not that common and making it transparent with another program would only take a couple of minutes.
Just my two cents ;)Posted 2 years ago #
