Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on this. Whenever we release an iPhone game or application we make sure there is a page on our web site for it. It isn't particularly flashy but our web site is solid, looks profession, and is easy to navigate.
I only ask because every time I read articles about promoting your iPhone games there seems to be a bullet for making sure there is a good web page for the game. I always thought this was a bit suspect. It's hard to track where sales are coming from but I don't have any indication that our web site has driven any and in my personal use I almost never find applications via the web in general. (I usually find games through the App Store, or when mentioned on dev sites).
Granted it can't hurt to have a web site (assuming it's not terrible), but has anyone found it to be helpful in promoting their games?
