wow, yeah, I see it there now, Top 50 spot !
Must have been some lag on the MajicRank but holy cow ! what a jump...
Overall place 88 in US !! AWEOME!
88, thats sooooooo 40 minutes ago, you're now 77! Picked an island yet? ;)
Seriously goes to show that time spent on testing and polish is worth its weight in gold.
Looks and plays great, congrats! zombies win!
Got it! Will check it out later. Video looks really promising!
I'd love to read a postmortem about this and the team behind it. You don't happen to have a blog? Currently the website link just goes back to the product page and there aren't any blog posts.
blog link is fixed
Thanks, that's better!
... hmmm, the pictures don't show in Opera and Safari. Not sure if that problem is on your end or mine, Safari shows me the blue question mark for each picture.
argh... I can't stop playing this game.... I'm totally addicted to it. I'm at night 30...
hehe. Sorry :) But you get a nice rewards after level 31. So keep playing.
It's a jumpdoodlegodpocketdefense killer!

Nooo!!!! LOL!!
Must ... kill ... zombie ....
I haven't downloaded it yet, but I wanted to say that it looks awesome. I'm glad to see that your hard work has paid off, too. It's nice to see independent developers rising to the top! Congratulations!
@Mitch Thank you!
This is our first game ever and its just nice that the App Store gives everybody the opportunity to enter the stage.
How many times have you checked MajicRank and Appviz in the last 10 minutes? ;)
How do you know that ;)
Actually, checking Appfigures ... Every hour. And I check my watch every 5min to see if the hour is over :)
Congratz Zombie!
Just bought it! Great game! Just wonder if the calendar March '10 is fixed? Or it will update on April? :)
zombie, awesome game! Congrats, your hard work is paying off. Did you guys use a PR firm? You've gotten a ton of press.
@hkmars Its fixed but we are already working on an upgrade. So adding some April days is not unlikely
@friken Yes, we do! That's a very good alternative to a publisher. We pay them in full. No rev. sharing. Will write more about that later and make a summary about our whole approach.
haha! awesome job! i love it! i've been playing with some skeleton modeling myself and i must say that it's a much more involved problem than it initially seems. you guys have done a great job with polishing your engine. well done!
so much for reaching number one with doodle blast. i'll have to settle for the next spot over ... ;)
top 20 paid games, awesome ! you must be getting over well over 5k downloads, tremendous for a first game !
congratulations on the success zombie!
the game's awesome, the integration between ragdoll and keyframed animations is really sweet.
yet another proof of how much cocos2d rocks :)
congrats! Bought it last night & played till the 10th so far. Very nice polished game, love the splatter engine, trying to resist the urge to play instead of work :-/
@patrickC Don't forget Chipmunk ;) The whole splattering and ragdoll effects makes heavy use of the Chipmunk physics engine. Scott Lembke also gave us great support if we got stuck in optimizations.
@gaminghorror. We work with triplepoint pr. When you are producing your first indie title, like we did, and nobody knows you, you need either luck, a publisher, or a pr company to bring it to peoples attention. But in general non of this works if your game is not appealing for the masses. It all starts with the right game.
Congrats! It sounds like you guys did perfect execution on this game. It's currently #36 of the charts in the US and have been moving up. Just a question for you, was there a lot of customization involved in the Cocos2d and Chipmunk engines to optimize the performance needed? I hope it'll be the first #1 Cocos game.
