I just wanted to take a moment and announce that our new game, Fruit Count (appstore:click-here or site:http://www.thefruitkids.com), has become available on the Apple App Store. Not wanting to build yet another gaming framework from the ground, we chose Cocos2d and found it to be an amazing framework. Thanks so much for all the support of the dedicated Cocos2d development team, and another hats-off to all the active members of this great community!
A little about the game:
Fruit Count takes classic educational board game concepts, especially designed for young, learning minds, and brings them to mobile. Not wanting to soak owners of multiple iOS device with separate app purchases, the app has been designed as a universal app to support play on the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. After noticing how the iPad was being used by many parents in increasing ways over the iPhone and iPod for entertaining and teaching (and sometimes even distracting) young children, we designed and developed Fruit Count taking cues from some of the games that we remembered playing obsessively as kids. It features brightly stylized graphics, fun audio, and teaches basic counting and motor skills through very simple game play.
App Features:
* Family fun for all ages, especially young minds
* Supports 1 to 4 players
* Classic board game entertainment
* To win, be the first player to pick your tree clean
* Play against the computer, or pass-and-play with friends
* Introduces early math concepts like counting, addition and subtraction
* Improves fine motor skill as you play
* Upbeat, fun music and sound effects
* "Hand-held" or "Table-top" game options
