I have to spill this 'cause I'm fucking sick and tired with their fucked up support, service and everything else!!
I uploaded an app for review at 19th July, 2009. The application was tested for both OS 2.2 and OS 3.0, I uploaded the app and waited for 12 god damn days.
I set the release date yesterday to the 30th July, 2009.
Today I get an E-mail that says my app is ready for sale, I got into the Entertaiment category and looked for my app in the release date. I found out that my app shows up nowhere!!! I looked at 50 last pages in the cat... and the only way to find it, is by searching for it in the itunes/appstore search option. Moreover I checked the OS the app fits - it says 3.0, nothing else.
WHY THE FUCK do I get screwed by Apple every goddamn time?!?!!? It's my second app and the same thing happens twice!!!
I'm so angry, I swear I could've killed someone or at least torch their fucked up company!
Seriously, I'm so tired of Apple's bullshit, sometimes I even regret signing up for the dev prog.
I'm sorry you need to read this, I really am, but I just had to let it out.
it's 00:27 and I'm so tired and angry, so frustrated, I'm feeling like this dream of becoming a developer and finally succedding is merely a dream and I, a 16 yo have no place in it.
Aaaaahhhh!!! G'nite, and I'm sorry you had to read this *if you did*
Apple is fucked up!!!

Also, are you sure you didn't compile for 3.0?
As far as I know, the OS compatibility depends on which SDK you used to compile.
But then again, it's my first app, I just submitted two days ago, but made sure when compiling that I was targeting OS2.2.1 and not OS3.0.
12 days isn't too bad either though, let us know if your app shows up in the recent releases by tomorrow!
Also, at 16, you have many years ahead of you and this is all experience, it'll all be good in the end :)
Good luck!Posted 2 years ago # -
good idea to compile against OS 2.2.1 for compatability since i guess quite few ipod touch havent upgraded yet owing to having to pay for it.

Just to check, if you go into the App Details in iTunes Connect, what does the "Minimum OS Requirements" line read?
Mine says 2.2.1, since that's what I targeted in the compile.
Hope that clears any doubts regarding the matter,

It took 24 hours before my apps actually showed up in the categories after becoming ready for sale.

I think you can put a far out release date and once they approve it, you can alter the release date. I think somebody on here recently set to test that out.

also, the new apps list is alphabetized, so if your app starts with a Z expect it several pages down no matter what the release date is.

Calm down there, I know some 12 year old iPhone developers :P All of us got screwed one point or another, you're not the only one.

natanavra, one of the big problems with the appstore is that Apple is such a blackbox most of the time. Getting emails answered is almost impossible. But we all kind of knew that going in, right? :( Let us know if it finally shows up in the category new list. Good luck.

Phew... Finally I'm calm - the app is up in the store for free.
Thanks for replying in the thread - if you'd like to check the app it's called:
"101 Riddles".
Anyways, I decided I'll triple check everything before I send something to apple, because we are ignored basically and they don't give a **** about us, so yeah, we are on our own.
Good Luck to you all, and triple check everything before you send to apple...
Thanks again.Posted 2 years ago # -
Hi natanavra,
You are one of the lucky ones!!!
I uploaded my app on the 19th and have had nothing back yet, other than the zip was corrupt.
There has been not scores uploaded onto my leaderboards either.
It does seem like pot luck for when your app gets looked at.
Yet we must still live in hope...Posted 2 years ago # -
Yes, we must believe and not lose hope!
For we shall succeed eventually!Posted 2 years ago # -
Good luck with your app! I will give it a try.

Hi :
Seems like I have a similar problem. I originally had my release date to Oct 16 but because of approval process it just came out today. While In the approval process I set the release date to Oct 27th. Now when I look at the release date in Itunes it still says Oct 16.
Sounds weird that the release date had been changed awhile ago and it still appeared with the original release date.
What can I do ?
Posted 2 years ago # -
Change it to Oct 27th ASAP

"or at least torch their fucked up company!"
They all work in a diamond castle. Shit won't burn. :-)

well...i emailed them...no response...checked again today...and the app is no where on the new list...interestingly if you sort games by release date in itunes the earliest date is the 26th...
