This week Super Search 60 was updated to V3.0. The major new feature is that all of the restrictions on playtime on the free version have been lifted. Additionally, all free players can now play offline - save their score locally - and submit when they get back within Wifi range.
I'm achieving all this through via the integration of Mobclix as an advertising partner. All seems to be going well do far. Thanks again to the Cocos2D forums for assisting with the integration. Would love to know how other people are doing and if they're manually choosing their advert allocation. PM me if you want to chat :)
Seeing quite a bit of chart action this week due to a bit of keyword shuffling and a category change.
Got a new game coming out shortly too!

The object physics is actually hand done. It just uses actions to achieve the effect. I needed very particular movement as the "clack clack clack" sound was more important than the animation itself. So I basically used slight random variations to ensure the falling sound was natural and not robotic.

The way I achieved the grid, I couldn't have used physics anyway. When a piece disappears, and they fall down, all the pieces are actually staying in place, I just switch the textures around. Saved allocating masses of objects all the time. I referenced the objects as if they were in an array.

And yeah the super sized mug certainly provides you with a hardcore dose of caffeine in a very short period of time.

EDIT: I just noticed I'd never actually provided the app store link in my original post! haha.

Hello Fellow Cocos2Ders,

Happy to announce today's release of "Super Search 60". First iPhone game, and hence first game with Cocos2D. Really happy when I found the Cocos2D game engine, even happier when I installed it and it worked out of the box. I drink Tea out of my Super Sized Cocos Mug daily.

Game is integrated with Facebook Connect (with a bit of help from the forums), and I'm very happy with the way it's all worked out.

Also trying something different with regard to the "Lite/Full" paradigm. The game is a very full featured "free" version and allows 20 minutes of online play each week. A "buy" button sits on the title screen and clicking it unlocks the full version of the game. This way, players can easily see when there's sales. Cross fingers and I hope my unusual method pays off.

Hope you all enjoy the game!

Matt
