great work
But you should make a "back to level" menu button in the pause menu.
I gave it 3 stars in the app store ;)

I haven't played the game yet so I don't know if the planks/strings move but one things you may be able to do is have a timer start counting once the character has stopped moving. I would say give the player maybe 10 seconds to try and determine if the player is in fact stuck or if they are just trying to plan their next move. There's a game called "Gravity Lab" that kinda does the same thing so that after you fire the character and he potentially can get stuck in some levels a countdown timer appears and as long as the character isn't moving it keeps going down until it reaches 0 which then called the game over screen.

:)
thank you (please do rate the app,and leave a review)
i could add the button linking to level select screen,
but then,if u implement so many options u ultimately end up making a mess,
if i add a "back to level select" instead of "back to main menu"
some1 else will be unhappy as he/she would like a direct link to main menu,
and if i add both of them,id end up cluttering the menu...its wise to keep the screen real-estate as clean as possible and also leave room for some features that may get added down the road...

I like the QR code, quite a nice touch in my opinion.
My personal thoughts:
-The start menu is rather nice
-When you go onto the Level select bit, having it more centralised would be excellent (but I don't know if this is just my iPod)
-The gameplay is rather simple as well.
-The pause button is a bit small, especially as I have a flip case on my device.

It is a excellent concept, and I love the graphics.
So its just generally great!

ok,so ive found a solution to the off screen issue, but not for the 2nd issue, thats differentiating between "the user has intentionally dropped the puchka
on some object and he plans to push it or bounce it somewhere else" vs "it is stuck somewhere and there is no way to finish the map"

also im thinking of having a reload gesture, that will keep the interface clean, the pause button still remains.
so if u want to quickle reload u can say do a quick 2finger scroll...how does that sound?

Hi, I tried to buy this book through my favourite seller in Australia and gave them the full details,
but was told it was out of print, which must be impossible as it is obviously available,.
I also saw it in ebay, but through paypal, which I do not use for personal/ethical reasons.

So, I am just hoping you can find an Australian distributor!

sigh...the problem is detecting such situations...
its part of the gamplay that puchka will bounce off screen a lot of times and drop somewhere,or the level starts with the puchka dropping from offscreen positions...
so i cant trigger gameover event if it goes off screen,
similarly many times you have to intentionally make it stop on a plank or a string etc...
so "complete halt" of the puchka also can't be considered a gameover situation...

im not sure how to differentiate when "the user has intentionally dropped the puchka
on some object and he plans to push it or bounce it somewhere else" vs "it is stuck somewhere and there is no way to finish the map"

maybe some people here can try to solve this...

Well, that is entirely up to yourself. With the reload button you sort tackle all situations, since when the player realises she can't do nothin' she'll find her way to the button by instinct. However, it will feel a lot less tacky if you, vishesh, tell the player that she has lost. Otherwise the player will have to sit and figure out herself is she has lost.

Er, this includes situations when the puchka has come to a complete halt, since there is no way to finish the map then.

I don't want to sound grumpy or nothing but I've played it for 10 seconds and my Pushka already went offscreen, without any lose splash or the game reloading the level. It's kinda painful to have to go to the menu to restart. It's cute though!

edit:
And it seems to be a recurring thing, you could've just had a restart button in the game scene. The general gameplay so far is solid, but if you suck as much as I do it's very tiring to have to go to menu over and over.

Hey, I just bought you book because I got very interesting the AI section with the book; specifically using Lua to perform dialog trees. However, I am having a little trouble with your manager. It seems that there was an update to Lua, and some of the updates make your code not compiled. Some of the changes are obvious, functions name and such. But I also saw that they remove some variables that the manager uses. Ultimately I decide to use an older version of Lua and everything works fine. :D
